How to naturally heal your eczema

July 25, 2018shelbssays@gmail.com

So lately, I have felt like I have been losing in a battle with my skin. Something seems to keep triggering my eczema and for those who also struggle with eczema, you know how aggravating it can be even to just do your daily tasks with constantly having the desire to scratch your skin… and as soon as you do, you know it is game over and your healing process goes back to square one. So, I have dedicated this post to anyone who struggles with eczema and is looking for a more natural route to take with healing eczema. I have tried so many over the counter creams to fix the issue, but even if it cures it, it’ll come right back.

What I did to relieve my eczema

Epsom salt baths. I started taking baths with a half cup of epsom salt added. The magnesium sulfate easily soaks into the skin and acts as an antinflamatory. It is a perfect instant reliever for when you are feeling super irritated. It also helps speed up the healing process!!

Oat baths. Another great thing to do for your skin is taking oat baths. Whenever my skin is really bad, I will switch back and forth each day between salt and oat baths. Oats help moisturize and calm irritations. All that you need to do is fill a clean sock with plain rolled oats, tie it up and throw it in the tub as the water is filling up.

Eczema Honey Co. This suff… ugh. I do not even know where to begin. First off, it is all NATURAL. You are suppose to keep it in the freezer because of its natural ingredients which is such a perk–it feels sooo soothing. My skin feels better instantly. It gets rid of a lot of the itchyness. The biggest struggle that I have with eczema is not giving my skin a chance to heal. Since this winter, as soon as my skin seems to get a little better, I will get stressed out and itch away. The cool sensation along with the honey really help cool down my flareups. I typically put this stuff on 3 times a day if it is bad–once in the morning, once when I get back from work, and once when I go to bed. *pro tip* at night you can add a thin layer of Vasaline overtop of the honey cream to seal everything in overnight–that way it stays on through the night.

Checking allergies. I pretty much have a stuffy nose more than I don’t. And if I were to guess why I have been struggling so much with my skin, it would be my struggles with my allergies which is why I am soon to be getting allergy tested.

Diet should not be overlooked. No matter what you do to heal your current flareup, it will come back if it is something you are always coming in contact with. Dairy and eggs seem to bother my skin a lot which is a common thing for people with eczema because they are pro-inflammatory foods.

Do you have any tips that help clear up your skin?
