Sotogrande, Spain

In late June I was searching for a new job for the last month of being home. I got a reply from my old horseback riding instructor; two summers ago I would go to her farm near my house and take care of the horses while she trained in Spain. This summer all of her horses were in Spain. And this summer she was serious about flying me out to give her a hand. I didn’t know what this entailed but I took the chance I had and flew out within that week.

Work days were long and in between the day I also had to write for FashionWeek.com. I was often in the barn for a good twelve hours. I was free in the middle of the day and returned later in the evening. This made the hours a little better.

and get the same thing almost every day: cocoa  agave, almond milk drink, a latte, and a fresh spinach, avocado and cream cheese panini. After that, I was off to the beach!

I typically had four hours in between my work day, so I made sure to get my fun out of it. I often went to this pretty cliff jumping spot which is shown in the upper right picture above. The water was so refreshing and the prettiest blue I’ve seen. After cliff jumping sessions I would walk back to my car and stop by this little restaurant near the lot for some fresh orange juice.

My favorite day was getting my full day off and traveling down to Tarifa, Spain. Tarifa is the most southern part of Spain. It is a town known for kitesurfing and windsurfing. During my time there, I hopped in a van with two locals and a few people from Italy for a surf session.
