10 must-have items as a college student (virtual or on-campus)

go old-school with an alarm clock. I can’t tell you how many times I slept through class because my phone died or something weird happened with my phone alarm. Nothing is worse than the feeling of sleeping through class! I like this one because it isn’t too bulky and the design is simple and clean.

You’ll want a water bottle that keeps your drink COLD.  Hydroflasks are the best! Nothing is worse than warm water. Do yourself a favor and invest in a good water bottle like this one that can keep your drinks cold all day! I recommend 32 OZ. or bigger, just because it’s nice not having to refill so much when you’re going to and from classes.

Keep your coffee the perfect temperature with this Hydroflask tumblr. I’m an iced coffee girl, and I can’t tell you how much of a lifesaver it is to be able to keep my coffee from getting luke warm by the end of class. It’s worth the investment!

Keep a printer in your room. Trust me, sometimes you won’t want to walk all the way to the library to print an assignment. It is nice to be able to get everything you need done in your room. This printer is super compact, which makes it perfect for saving space!

Use Alexa! I highly recommend having one of these! Alexa can sinc to your calendar, remind you anything you ask it to, set alarms, play music, and so much more. When you are busy doing work in your room, it is nice to have the option of voice command! So much easier.

A pocket planner is a great idea to record all of your assignments in. You will definitely want something to keep in your backpack like this planner, to record class assignment information as you receive it!

Keep a big calendar on your desk to keep all of your big assignments and events in front of you. The biggest struggle for me was staying on top of my schedule. I wouldn’t have made it without one of these on my desk.

Don’t lose your work!  If I didn’t back up my files, I would have lost so much work! Save yourself the trouble and invest in a good hard drive.

Headphones are a must in college. You never know when you’ll need to get an assignment finished, and it might be too noisy.

Get a good backpack to fit all of your things in. Make sure there are plenty of compartments for chargers, your laptop, notebooks and more. I like this one because it has just the right amount of space without being too bulky!

You will want a compact umbrella in your bag at all times! You never know when there might be a storm, and it really sucks being stuck in a lecture soaking wet!

A Good mirror is a MUST. This one hangs right on the back of your door–and has TONS of storage space for jewelry, makeup, and skincare. You have to get creative when it comes to fitting in your dorm, and this mirror is the perfect space saver!

A good fan is a must have for your room. Not to mention it can get pretty dry in your room, so this one has a built in humidifier as well–gotta save space in your room!!

Pepper GelYou will hopefully never have to use pepper spray, but I would rather be safe than sorry! There were many late nights walking back to my dorm from my library, and I am happy to have always had this in my hand.

ENO hammock’s are a campus necessity. You can pretty much guarentee that you will find multiple hanging up between trees on your quad. They are perfect to chill in or to get some reading assignments done. P.S. if you are studying from home this semester, you will want to get out of your house at somepoint, so hanging up a hammock in the backyard is a must-have!

Steamers are pretty much a lifesaver on space in a dorm room. If you don’t have a lot of space, you probably won’t want to find a space to store a big ironing board.  And you don’t want to be that student that always wears wrinkled clothing!
