Ten things skiers can sadly relate to in the summer - Shelbssays
Is it winter yet? I miss sunny park laps, pow days, lodge french fries, and my ski pals. And since I can’t go ski, I decided that I could at least write a post about what I love and miss doing. Here are 10 things every skier can relate to in the summer: missing your ski friends Ski and snowboard friends are normally 10 times better than regular friends (no offense to non-ski friends). And you get to see them 10 times more in the winter. There is just something special getting to do your favorite thing in the world with your favorite people. I miss park laps, lift rides, and chilling in the lodge eating good pizza and french fries with my ski pals. missing the feeling of arriving at your home mountain You just know its gonna be a good time. Even if the snow is absolute shit, it doesn’t matter. Because you love skiing- chunder and all. And you finally are at the mountain. And so are all of your homies!!! no longer waking up and looking out your window to this The familiar feeling that we have all had since we were kids- to look out your window praying to have enough snow for no school. Which led to teenage you praying for a snow day to drive up to the ski resort for a pow day. Which led to college you skipping class for a pow day (JK). And now that you have no class to stop you from skiing, it’s summer. watching your friend’s snap stories from ski camp And thinking about the things you would do just to have one day on hill right now… trying new summer sports and sucking at them I love skateboarding and surfing. I actually really love summer. But right around mid summer I just feel stuck. Trapped! It feels like it will be years until winter arrives. Also, I miss being good at stuff. chair lift snacks Nothing quite like a sammy with a view. Even though usually things get kind of squished in your pockets, (especially if you take a few tumbles like me) there is just something nice about chair lift snacks. Seeing 2018’s new stuff dropping It is summer. And next year’s lines are starting to drop. And it is summer. And you can’t ski or buy anything yet. Bingeing Realizing that you’ve been spending way too many hours watching ski edits and looking at stuff on Newschoolers. If you can’t ski you might as well be watching it and talk about it. trying to do fun things outside If snow can’t be here in the summer, neither should I. missing the feeling of clicking into your bindings You leave everything else behind and get to clear your mind. I have yet to find anything more therapeutic than skiing. ^^^ tb to big smiles all the time. Pls help. You can donate some dollas on GoFundMe so you can ship me out to New Zealand. Just kidding, but not really. Help.
