Wake up… Your skin!

I could go on and on about my love for coffee and how it saves my butt all the time when I am feeling sleepy and need to get through the day. But, today I am talking about coffee for your skin. Just like how caffeine in your yummy iced coffee wakes you up, it can also wake up and brighten your skin as well! So thanks, Coffee! Idk what I would do without u and your ✨magical powers✨

This spring I ran out of my favorite coffee scrub and have not felt like splurging on another tub of it. And then, a lightbulb went off inside my head to do a little DIY. I didn’t know what to expect with making it myself for the first time, but I am pretty excited with the results!

Coffee scrub has numerous benefits such as:

  • brightening and tightening the skin

  • protecting your skin from environmental stress

  • reducing dark undereye circles!!!

  • preventing breakouts

  • exfoliating and reducing scars/stretchmarks

Here are the ingredients that I used to make my scrub

about 3/4 cup of ground coffee: Applying coffee to your skin has SO many benefits. It acts as a natural exfoliator! I suffer from really dry skin that comes and goes as the seasons change- this scrub easily buffs away my flaky skin with one wash! Not to mention coffee beans are very antioxidant rich, thus helping to brighten and reduce imperfections.

about 1 cup of brown sugar: Brown sugar is another exfoliator, but a lot softer than most.

about 3/4 cup of coconut oil:  I literally use coconut oil for everything. It smells amazing and is an excellent moisturizerSince ground coffee is a really powerful exfoliator, you need something like coconut oil to replenish your skin.

a splash of vanilla: Once I mixed everything together, I added a splash of vanilla because of the unreal combination of scents and its anti-inflammatory properties.

So, yay! Here you go! I normally use coffee scrub 1-2 times a week all over my body to brighten, exfoliate, and reduce scarring. 🙂 P.S. put your coffee scrub in your frig before using to make it feel extra nice on your skin. ?
