How to apply wallpaper in your dorm room

Decorating with Photowall

It is the second semester and normally around this time, I get bored and want to change something up with my room! I’ve had a plain, undecorated wall that I’ve been waking up to every single morning and it finally hit me that I could really make it fun with some wallpaper! Recently I collaborated with Photowall to spruce up my space. They have so many beautiful designs to choose from, and all of their papers are eco-friendly! So, how did I apply this awesome mural when I live in a dorm room?

Finding the perfect paper:

It was pretty simple to find exactly what I wanted for my room on Photowall. They have tons of categories to choose from and if you want something a little more unique, their team is super open to helping out– they easily switched the background of my paper to a nice shade of blue! I picked out the print “Snail Trail” which is here.

How I applied it:

helpful tools:

  • pencil
  • exacto knife
  • double-sided poster tape
  • command strip adhesive
  • scissors
  • patience 🙂
  • an extra buddy

I am not going to lie, if you have a dorm room and cannot use paste, it is a tricky process, but it can be done! Photowall sent my mural in strips. I used double-sided poster tape and command strip adhesives to place on the back of each one– a total dorm decor hack! It is a slow process, but I am impressed with how it turned out for not using the paste. If you do this, it isn’t going to look perfectly smooth, but it still comes out great!

For those of you who are looking for permanent wallpaper, Photowall sends your paper with toolkits, including everything you need and paste.
